The from Athlete to Coach (AtoC) education training is targeted at former athletes or athletes at the end of their active competition career, as well as coaches, with a foreign background, who want to become coaches for children and youth sport participants.
If you have been an athlete of any sport at the national or international level and are now interested in becoming a coach or you want to develop your coaching skills further, then the AtoC education training is your opportunity to develop yourself. The main language of the education is English.

The main goal of the AtoC education training is, that after graduating from the training, you will be able to:
The AtoC education training consists of contact teaching, distance learning (online) and practical coaching experiences. The 6-month intensive training prepares you to transition from having been an athlete to being a coach, or provides you with the possibility to deepen and develop your coaching skills.
The coach education training is person-centred and the individual needs of each participant are reflected in the execution of the coach education training. After completion of the training, you have the opportunity to apply for further vocational education in sport coaching.

The AtoC coach education training is heavily subsidized through a grant by the Ministry of Education (OKM) and therefore the participation fee is only 250 euros. The price covers instruction, material and the digital learning platform for the 6-month period as well as the accommodation with meals during the residentials at the Varala Sports Institute, Tampere, Finland.
