HJK's forward Mads Borchers is the Player of the Month for October in Veikkausliiga

Mads Borchers enjoyed an outstanding October. The HJK striker was in exceptional goalscoring form, producing two hat-tricks during the month totalling 9 goals and 4 assists in October. He scored three times in HJK’s emphatic 6–0 victory over VPS and followed that up with another hat-trick in the 4–0 Helsinki derby win against Gnistan. His clinical finishing, intelligent movement and ability to attack space made him a constant threat in the final third.

Born in Denmark in 2002, Borchers is a versatile forward who has developed into an important part of HJK’s attack. The 2026 season has demonstrated his ability to score consistently at Veikkausliiga level, with 20 league goals recorded across 29 appearances. His performances in October underlined his growing importance to HJK during the decisive stage of the season and battle for the championship.
