KTP striker Lucas Rangel is the Ykkösliiga Player of the Month for August

Ykkösliiga players selected KTP's Lucas Rangel as the Ykkösliiga Player of the Month for August.

Lucas Rangel enjoyed an excellent August following his arrival at KTP. The experienced Brazilian striker made an immediate impact in Ykkösliiga, helping KTP maintain its position at the top end of the table. During the month, Rangel scored decisive goals in victories over KäPa, EIF and Haka. His ability to provide an aerial presence, hold up play and finish chances gave KTP an important new dimension in the final third. Although he joined KTP midway through the season, Rangel adapted quickly and immediately began delivering important goals.

Born in Alvorada, Brazil, in 1994, Rangel is an experienced centre-forward who has built a long professional career across several countries. Before joining KTP in August 2026, he had played in Finland, Latvia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Albania and Turkey, gaining a reputation as a physical striker with strong goalscoring instincts. He combines strength, intelligent movement and aerial ability, making him a constant threat inside the penalty area. 

In all the top Finnish leagues - Veikkausliiga, Kansallinen Liiga, Ykkösliiga, Kansallinen Ykkönen and Ykkönen - the players vote at the end of each month for the league’s Player of the Month. Players are not allowed to vote for someone from their own team. The player who receives the most votes during the month is selected as the Player of the Month.
